Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: The 'sharing' component...

For years, listening to the Dead was mostly something I did on long runs. This goes back to 1982 and a Panasonic Walkman-type tape player I owned. Within the last decade, however, not only had I lost my circle of Dead-friendly acquaintances (both online and IRL), but age and injuries had nearly finished my running career. The addition of a couple of young kids to the family also meant that the communal stereo got blasted a lot less. The Dead were dead as far as my listening habits were concerned. Then I got a mp3 player, discovered this website and took up BitTorrent with a vengeances. Now I'm filling up hard drives faster than I can acquire them. I'll be listening to shows while I rake leaves this weekend. :-)
